Path Toward Waters of Styx

The footpath toward Mavrolimni also continues to the Waters of Styx (Idata Stygos), for which there are two alternative routes. The first starts from the village of Peristera and follows a 5-kilometer road that ends in Mesorougi. From there, at the Tessera Elata (4 fir trees) point, the footpath starts for the Waters of Styx (about 150 minutes). The second and easier route (in the summer) is the one that we show here, starting from Ano Lithari, passing through Mavrolimni, and ending at the Waters of Styx (complete trip 60 to 75 minutes). There is also a third, but more demanding, route that starts near Aristarchos and almost vertically descends the slope just before the Waters of Styx, ending at the point where the footpath from Mavrolimni comes.
