Virgin Mary of the Myrtle Tree (Myrtidiotissa)

Across from the little church of the Dormition (Kimisis), to the right of the curve as we arrive in Faraklo from Mesohori, there is a dirt road leading to the small church of the Virgin Mary of the Myrtle Tree (Panagia Myrtidiotissa). Note that the little church is on a hill above the road. The silver icon of Myrtidiotissa decorates the interior of the church. Neapoli and its plain are stretched out down below, while in the depths of the Lakonian Gulf we can see all the way to Kythira.
