Saint Sozon

A few meters below Castle Square (Plateia tu Kastru) along the old main road toward Karavostasi, we find the little Byzantine church of Saint Sozon (Agios Sozontas). Built by the Byzantines to honor the saint after the castle was saved from enemy attack, the little church was constructed outside the castle, beside one of its towers.
