Built in 1919, the Lighthouse is situated on a rock beside the sea, just before Livadaki beach on the north western side of Folegandros. It rises 11 metres off the ground, is at 58 metres altitude and is visible at a distance of 17 nautical miles. There is a building beside the lighthouse where the lighthouse watchmen used to stay. The lighthouse originally functioned with wicks, subsequently with an oil /steam mechanism and since 1986 with solar energy. Access is via a footpath from Ano Meria or from Livadaki beach.
