Built at around 200 meters altitude, the Chora (or Hora) in Folegandros is one of the most impressive sights in the Aegean. The traditional village is situated on a plateau above a steep vertical cliff with one of its sides embedded on the edge of the precipice. Narrow alleys, small, white houses and the fact that traffic is forbidden in the center of Chora makes it even more magical and welcoming for strolls and walks. Visitors find a wealth of choices in the central squares for eating and entertainment, while it is also worth visiting Kastro and the Church of the Virgin Mary on the hill above Chora.
