"One characteristic of Schoinoussa is its gentle landscape. There are no tall hills, unlike in Iraklia and Donoussa. The highest peak, located in the northwestern part of the island in Vardies, is only 145 meters above sea level. At this point there is a ruined mill and of course the typical short cement column of GYS (Army Geographic Service) marking the triangulation point. There is a beautiful view from here, especially over the village of Messaria, which we see just below us (to the east). To get there from Chora, take the northern road toward Messaria
