Just after the little Chapel of Saint Ioannis, we go up towards Agios Athanasios and we can then see the signpost that shows Agios Athanasios - Spilaio (footpath four (4)) and Panagia (footpath three (3)). Footpath four (4) starts from the final house of the nearly deserted village of Agios Athanasios and goes up southwards for 1,100 metres to 270m altitude at Selathi ( on the NW slope of Papas) where it meets footpath three (3) coming from the west and Panagia village. Footpath four (4) is shorter by 200 metres and has less of a difference in height (100m rather than 135m) than footpath three (3) until their converging at Selathi. From their meeting point, henceforth it converges with footpath three (3) and after 1,300 metres it ends at the cave of Saint Ioannis and the Cave of Polyphemus.
