Panagia village is the capital of Iraklia and is located about 4km south of Agios Georgios. Today, it has fewer permanent residents than Agios Georgios. A lovely village with few houses and typical Cycladic architecture. It is located on the northern foothills of Papas, the highest peak on the island at 420m and we can visit there following the signposted community footpath one (1) that starts from the village. In the centre, we can see the imposing Church of the Presentation. The signposted community footpath three (3) starts from the west of the village that takes us to the lovely Cave of Saint Ioannis and the Cave of Polyphemus.
