The offices of the mining company (Palio Dioikitirio) used to be housed in this now abandoned neoclassical building, which was built according to Tsiller's (or Ziller’s) architectural standards after the arrival of Emil Groman, when the mining company moved from Koutalas to Megalo Livadi. Located next to the beach, it has large palm trees in front of it. Although it has been declared a monument of modern culture, the building received a major blow in 2013, when the roof collapsed in the fire that broke out in the region, burning everything in its path as strong winds blew flames all the way to the sea. There have been thoughts of using it for a museum and conference venue, but too much money is required to get this done. If only this could be done in the near future; this building is one of the unique modern monuments on our islands.
