Agios Nikolaos

One of the unsubdued Maniot settlements of Bardounochoria (in contrast to the Tourkobardounochoria in the same area, which were conquered by Turks), this was the center of the region in the Middle Ages. Here, the Bardounia Castle with its Venetian architecture was built (with Turkish additions later).
