Elatofyto (or Mazi) is a village with a long history. It is mentioned in Venetian documents of 1700 while it enjoyed great prosperity during the 18th century. The Mazi residents came down to the plains after the liberation of Greece and built Mazeika Kalyvia, that is to say today's Kleitoria.
