The most famous and most historic hotel in Kalavryta. It was built in the 1920s on the historic Eleftheria Square in Kalavryta, where the meeting of the three respected old men took place on March 21, 1821, marking the real beginning of Greece's liberation struggle. The history of the Helmos is closely related to the history of 20th century Kalavryta. The hotel was expanded in the 1930s, burned down by the Nazis on December 13, 1943, and repaired in order to accommodate guests until the beginning of 2000. Completely renovated, with new spaces for events, a restaurant, and a bar, it was reopened in December 2005 to offer first-class services.
