Kalavryta, the historic town of Achaea, built on the slopes of Chelmos on the site of ancient Cynaetha. It is the location of the ultimate martyrs' sacrifice of Greeks against the German occupation. Today, it has enjoyed a considerable touristic development based on the ski resort of Chelmos.
