The convent of the Virgin Mary the Golden Lioness (Panagia Chrysoleontissa) has been a retreat for nuns near Lazarides, in an area with abundant vegetation, since 1935. The convent's tower shows an inscription that refers to its founding in 1403. It was named after the location where it was built, Leonti.
