Remains of ancient walls of citadel of ancient small town Maratha

Just before the small Church of Agionikolas on the hill above Maratha,we can see several remains of the ancient walls of the citadel of the ancient small town of Maratha that protected the neighbouring ancient Gortyna from the attacks of those from Ileia.
