The splendid, central Church of the Dormition of the Virgin, οf the first perish of Velymachi. Engraved on its wall the flag of Philhellenic Friendly Society and 1823. It has Vyzantine icon paintings inside and at the sides of the Church. It was rebuilt at 1869, a donation of the local association of Velymachians. The Virgin Mary's icon stopped the church's burning by the Turks in the battle with Velys, 1807 (Vely-machi).
