Location
For a very beautiful hike, walk toward the stone bridge of Tzavaraina, which spans the Mylaontas River, 1500 meters from Nymfasia. Built in the middle of the 19th century, the bridge used to connect Vytina with Lasta.
We will leave the car on the road across from the entrance to the Agropoli Guesthouse and descend the slope until we arrive at the banks of the Mylaontas (after about 150 meters). A few meters to the right, we can see the ruins of the large mill of a monastery standing on the opposite side of the river.
How to Get There
In the summer, there is very little water in the river, and the easiest way to reach the bridge is to walk in the riverbed. We will head to the left after we descend to the river. The bridge is about 1 kilometer away, and we will reach it in approximately 30 minutes. At one or two points, however, we will need to leave the riverbed and climb a little higher to take the riverside paths to the right or left of it.
