Every year on September 8, the Panagia tis Armatas celebrates the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, as well as the anniversary of the sea battle of Spetses, when the Spetses fleet drove away the Turkish fleet, thus assisting in the Greek recapture of Nafplio.
