Prastos is a community made up of Agios Panteleimonas (a small hamlet on the road from Kastanitsa to Agios Andreas) and the village of Prastos. Up to 1821, Prastos was the capital of Tsakonia. At its peak in the 18-19th centuries, it had 6-7000 residents.
