Paos

Community of the Municipal District of Paeon made up of the villages of Vesini, Dechounaiika, Paleos Paos, Paos and Potamia. Kato Paos is a contemporary plain village built in 1972 by residents of the surrounding mountain villages (Paleos Paos, Dechouni, Vesini). It is built west of the site of ancient Paos and its acropolis. Dechouni and Paleos Paos are today deserted with most of the beautiful stone built houses now half-ruined. Vesini is a very lovely mountain village which was characterised since 1978 as a model traditional village. Today, the village has been upgraded particularly with its aesthetic stone built houses, the square, fountains and its stone cobbled roads.
