Community of the Municipal District of Aroania. It consists of the homonymous, beautiful village of Sopoto (as was the old name of Aroania), built at a height of 930 metres in the foothills of the Tartari mountain (of the Mount Erymanthos mountain range). It was the place of birth of the martyr Paul (patron saint of Tripoli). Up to the 1970's, the town was an important centre of the Kalavriton region.
