The Municipal District of Kalavryta Municipality whose seat is Kalavryta, the historic town of Achaea, built on the slopes of Chelmos on the site of ancient Cynaetha. It is the location of the ultimate martyrs' sacrifice of Greeks against the German occupation. Today, it has enjoyed considerable touristic development based around the ski resort of Chelmos. The Municipal District is made up of Ano Vlasia, Ano Lousoi, Valta, Vilivini, Goumenissa, Doumena, Drosato, Kalavryta, Kallifoni, Kandalos, Kato Vlasia, Kato Zachlorou, Kato Lousoi, Kerpini, Kertezi, Korfes, Kouteli, Kryoneri, Lagovouni, Lapanagoi, Manesi, Kalavryta, Mikros Pontias, Petsakoi, Plataniotissa, Priolithos, Profitis Ilias, Rogoi, Sigouni, Skepasto, Trechlo and Flampoura.
