The Municipal Unit of Kerkini includes one Municipal Community and nine local communities, all around Lake Kerkini and to the west, near the border of the Serres and Kilkis prefectures. The villages of the unit offer both the beauties of the lake and the wealth of Mount Beles, the natural border between Greece and Bulgaria.
